About

Hi, I’m Dr Nikki Busch, and I’m a Specialist General Practitioner at Ochre Medical Centre in Wollongong.

I grew up in a regional town in Queensland and moved to Wollongong to study Medicine. I graduated from the University of Wollongong in 2016. After internship and residency, I worked in Paediatrics and Obstetrics before embarking on Specialist GP training with the Royal Australian College of GPs.

As a GP, I see patients of all backgrounds and ages, but I have a special interest looking after women and children. I have undertaken additional study in Paediatrics completing the Sydney Child Health Program (previously known as the Diploma of Child Health). I have also completed a Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health through Family Planning NSW. I offer antenatal shared care and postnatal care, and I’m currently undertaking further training to become an accredited provider of Neuroprotective Developmental Care (the ‘Possums’ Programs).

You may also spot me working as one of the Emergency Doctors at Wollongong Hospital if you’re having a particularly bad day. I enjoy the busy team environment and the opportunity to stay upskilled in acute medicine and learn from some wonderful colleagues.

My time outside of work is spent mostly with my beautiful young family, raising my 2 kids. I enjoy camping, skiing, mountain biking, drinking plenty of coffee and getting to the beach.
